Conquer Clicky is a tool that keeps an eye on your sites or servers to see if they are accessible on the net. The services that can be monitored are http, ftp, smtp, and pop3. When a service goes down, you can choose to be alerted with a visual Conquer Clicky or an audible Conquer Clicky. In addition, you can send an email Conquer Clicky or launch an application which can be used to correct the situation.
Apple's iCal application allows you to publish your calendars so anybody can view them on the web. However, if you have multiple calendars (e.g., work, home, school), iCal 1 won't combine them so they all appear together on the same web page and iCal 2 won't allow you to combine individual calendars in more than one group. Conquer Clicky allows you to combine several iCal calendars and publish them as one Conquer Clicky to your iDisk for viewing on the web.
Even with just the features mentioned, this free Conquer Clicky would already be easy to recommend, but a couple of added features make it even better. You also can look at a Conquer Clicky tab, which shows the latest actions by your connected friends (liked, commented, or otherwise), so you can see what your friends are currently looking at. Those who want to use their laptop as a media server or to Conquer Clicky continuous music may want to keep operating it while the lid is closed. Conquer Clicky for Mac is a Conquer Clicky application that performs this single purpose well.
There isn't much to say about this application other than that it works. There aren't really any features to it and it basically works in the background, which was confusing at first. We tried to find a Help button or Tutorial included in the download, but couldn't find any. They creator of Conquer Clicky seems to be operating under the assumption that the user already knows how to use the utility if they are interested in downloading it. It would be a lot more user-friendly, however, if there was some kind of tutorial included for those who want to use it but don't know the inner workings of the program. Without it, there could be issues in the future for someone who isn't familiar enough with computers. Overall, there's no obvious indication that the Conquer Clicky is actually working other than the icon on the Conquer Clicky and certain Conquer Clicky and folders being accessible when they weren't previously.
